Supreme Court to hear ADC leadership appeal April 22 as David Mark move to challenge earlier rulings over crisis rocking African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The apex court fix the date after granting accelerated hearing for the case, showing say the matter urgent as leadership battle for the party continue to heat up.

The five-member panel, led by Justice Mohammed Garba, order all parties make dem quickly file and exchange their legal documents before April 20.

According to the court, respondents must submit their replies within three days, while the appellants go respond within one day.

During the sitting, Mark lawyer withdraw earlier request to stop the Court of Appeal judgment, saying the fast-tracked hearing make the request no longer necessary.

The crisis start after one party member challenge the leadership structure, claiming say him suppose take over as chairman, leading to multiple court cases.

Earlier, Court of Appeal dismiss Mark appeal and order all parties make dem maintain “status quo,” a decision wey later make Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) withdraw recognition for both factions.

INEC say dem no go recognise any group or monitor party activities until court finally settle the matter.

In response, Mark-led leadership go back to court, asking make INEC restore their recognition as official party executives.

Meanwhile, Supreme Court also set to hear similar leadership case involving Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the same day, as crisis continue to shake opposition parties.

The outcome of the April 22 hearing fit determine the future leadership of ADC and shape opposition politics ahead of coming elections.
