
Federal High Court Abuja don remand suspected coup plotters for DSS custody over terrorism charges, after six defendants appear before the court and deny all allegations against them.

The case start on Wednesday afternoon as Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, inform the court say the 13-count charge don ready and request make dem read am to the defendants.
Court proceedings face delay
Hearing first delay small after one of the defendants talk say him lawyer no dey available, while another defendant say him only understand Arabic and Hausa language.
This one make the judge pause the case briefly to arrange interpreter before proceedings continue.
Defendants plead not guilty
When court resume, all six defendants take their pleas and plead not guilty to the terrorism-related charges wey dey against them.
Court order DSS remand
After the arraignment, prosecution ask make the court remand the suspects for custody of Department of State Services(DSS).
Most defence lawyers no oppose the request, though one of them talk say dem go soon file bail application.
The trial judge approve the request and order say make the defendants remain for DSS custody, but allow them access to their lawyers.
Trial to start soon
The court also grant accelerated hearing of the case and fix April 27, 2026, for the trial to begin fully.
The case don add to ongoing security concerns in Nigeria, as authorities continue to clamp down on alleged threats to national stability.
