
Abba Atiku Abubakar, wey be pikin of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, don officially leave Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) join ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as e also declare full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu second-term bid for 2027.
Dem welcome am into APC on Thursday for National Assembly, Abuja, as Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, receive am together with other APC leaders from North-East zone.
As e introduce himself for the event, Abba Atiku talk say e don finally quit PDP wey dem work together for 2023 election.
“My name na Abubakar Atiku Abubakar, but people dey call me Abba. I dey here today to formally announce say I don leave my former party and I don decide to join APC,” e talk.
Abba Atiku explain say im decision come from the leadership style of the Deputy Senate President.
“Today, I dey join APC because of the outstanding leadership quality of His Excellency, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin,” e add.
E no stop there, as e also openly endorse President Tinubu re-election bid for 2027. E instruct all coordinators and members of im political group wey e form for 2022, formerly known as Haske Atiku Organisation, make dem immediately align with APC and support Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda.
“With this development, I go work with Senator Barau to actualise President Bola Ahmed Tinubu second-term bid come 2027. To this effect, I dey direct all coordinators of my association make dem join APC and work for President Tinubu,” Abba Atiku talk.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar be PDP presidential candidate for 2023 election, where e come second. After the election, Atiku later leave PDP join African Democratic Congress (ADC), alongside other opposition leaders, to challenge President Tinubu for 2027.
The public endorsement of Tinubu by im son don already spark mixed reactions, as many political observers believe say the move fit affect Atiku Abubakar future political plans if e eventually emerge as ADC presidential candidate.
Welcoming Abba Atiku into APC, APC National Vice Chairman (North-East), Mustapha Salihu, describe the move as sign of political maturity.
“Today na one of my happiest days. We dey look beyond old political and social divisions. This young man don see Tinubu administration policies and programmes and decide to align with them,” Salihu talk.

Also speaking, Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, commend Abba Atiku decision, say na ideology push am, not family influence.
“You make this decision based on ideology. You no come here because of your father. You come because you believe in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, im ideology and the Renewed Hope Agenda. This young man get focus and determination to help shape Nigeria future. Na this kind youth Nigeria need,” Jibrin talk.
