Barring any last-minute change, MRS and other partners of Dangote Petroleum Refinery don set to begin sell petrol for N739 per litre across Nigeria.
Dis one come just two days after Dangote Refinery slash im petrol gantry price from N828 to N699 per litre, as part of effort to bring fuel price come down for Nigerians.
While speaking for press briefing for Lekki refinery on Sunday, Dangote Group oga, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, yarn say e don notice say even when refinery reduce price, some filling stations still dey sell fuel high, just to frustrate the price drop.
According to am, MRS stations go start sell petrol for N739 per litre from Tuesday, starting for Lagos, while other partners go follow soon.
Dangote allege say some officials don meet with certain marketers and tell dem make dem no reduce price, just to sabotage the new price regime. E say e no go allow am and e ready to fight to make sure say petrol price crash.
“I bin hear say marketers meet some people and dem tell dem make dem keep price high. But from Tuesday, MRS go start sell petrol for N739 per litre. That N970 price, Nigerians no go see am again,” Dangote talk.
E explain say transportation cost from refinery no pass N10 to N15 per litre, so e no make sense make petrol dey sell for N900. According to am, real pump price suppose no pass N715.
Dangote also accuse NMDPRA say dem issue 47 import licences to bring more than 7 billion litres of petrol for first quarter of 2026, something wey e say dey kill local refinery investment.
E assure Nigerians say the N739 per litre price go be enforced, starting with MRS stations, and say anybody wey get money fit come buy petrol directly from refinery for N699 per litre.
When dem contact NMDPRA spokesman, George Ene-Ita, for reaction, e simply talk say, “For now, no comment.”
