The Department of State Services (DSS) don raise alarm say Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) dey plan attack for some communities inside Ondo and Kogi States.
For secret letter wey DSS send go the Commander of 32 Artillery Brigade for Akure, dem talk say the attack fit happen anytime soon and make Army and other security people shine their eye well well.
The letter wey H.I. Kana sign for the State Director of Security, carry title “Imminent Attacks in Ondo State by Members of ISWAP.”
DSS mention say the target areas include Eriti-Akoko, Oyin-Akoko for Akoko North-West and Owo town wey be Owo Local Government headquarters.
Dem talk say intelligence show say ISWAP people don dey monitor soft targets for those areas, and DSS don tell Army make dem raise their alert level sharp sharp to stop the wahala before e start.
Ondo Police PRO, Mr. Olayinka Ayanlade, confirm say dem don already dey act on the DSS information.
“Na part of why we go Akoko on Sunday. We no wan make anything catch us unawares,” he talk.
This DSS warning dey come three years after ISWAP people attack St. Francis Catholic Church for Owo on June 5, 2022, wey kill 41 worshippers and wound many others. DSS later arrest some of the suspects and dem dey face trial now for Abuja.
