
Mohammed Bello El‑Rufai, son of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El‑Rufai, don speak out after officials of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) raid his father residence.
For statement wey he release on Monday, Bello accuse the anti-corruption agency of turning the investigation into wetin he describe as “circus of chicanery,” saying the commission dey try use his father silence against am.
According to am, ICPC officials seize only a few personal items during the operation.

Bello claim say the items wey officials carry from the house na mostly old personal mobile phones — some of them dating back almost 20 years — alongside flash drives and laptops.
He insist say no sophisticated surveillance equipment or sensitive security documents dey the house, contrary to wetin ICPC earlier suggest.
“We dey present when dem seize the items. Na only old phones, flash drives and laptops dem carry. Any claim about special spying equipment no be true,” the statement talk.
El-Rufai Still For ICPC Custody
Nasir El‑Rufai don remain in custody of ICPC after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) earlier grant am bail on February 18, 2026.
Authorities dey question the former governor over alleged financial misconduct during the time wey he serve as governor of Kaduna State.
Family Challenge Investigation
Bello also allege say the warrant wey authorities use to search the house get serious irregularities, claiming say the document fit have been forged.
He say the family don instruct their legal team to challenge the search and other actions taken by the commission in court.
