FG Don Carry Ex-Aviation Minister Stella Oduah Go Court for ₦5bn Fraud Matter

ABUJA — Former Minister of Aviation, Senator Stella Oduah, don appear for High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Maitama on Wednesday as Federal Government arraign am for corruption matter wey reach ₦5 billion.

Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), lead the arraignment with five-count charges wey include conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence.

For one of the charges, government allege say Oduah collect ₦2.4 billion from Federal Ministry of Aviation through Broad Waters Resources, claim say the money na for “technical supervision.” The matter happen for January 2014.

Other charges talk say she still collect ₦1.6 billion and another ₦839 million with the same method, wey dey against the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud-Related Offences Act.

Oduah no come alone — she dey arraigned with her co-defendant, Gloria Odita. Both of dem talk say dem no guilty.

For inside courtroom, Oduah get support from her lawyer, Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), while Odita lawyer na Wale Balogun (SAN).

Justice Hamza Muazu grant Oduah bail on self-recognition but order am to drop her international passport for court. Him warn say she no fit travel comot the country unless court give permission.

This no be the first time government dey prosecute Oduah for this same matter. EFCC first carry case go Federal High Court Abuja before dem later withdraw am.
