Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, Chairman of House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), present for plenary, dey urge lawmakers make dem investigate the matter, say e fit be breach of Federal Character Principle wey dey guarantee say all geopolitical zones go get fair representation.
The petition wey dem address give Speaker Tajudeen Abbas talk say the appointment of Mbakwe as South East representative for NNPCL management team fit dey against the constitution. Dem talk:
“We dey appreciate His Excellency, the President, for consider Igbo woman for this kind national position, but we gats talk say Mrs. Mbakwe no from South East. So she no fit represent the zone according to Section 14(3) of 1999 Constitution (as amended).”
