Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) don deny report wey circulate for social media claim say the anti-corruption agency arrest James Omotosho, judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria in Abuja.

For statement wey the commission spokesman, John Odey, release on Tuesday, ICPC describe the viral video wey carry the allegation as false and misleading.

According to the commission, it never arrest or invite Justice Omotosho for questioning over any investigation.

The agency also clarify say it no dey currently investigate the judge as the video claim.

ICPC urge members of the public to ignore the misleading information and stop spreading unverified reports wey fit cause unnecessary public panic and damage people reputation.

The commission also explain say by law it no get mandate to investigate serving judicial officers in Nigeria.

ICPC add say it get high respect for the judiciary and judicial officers across the country, including Justice Omotosho.

The agency further reassure the public of its commitment to professionalism and due process in carrying out its responsibilities.

It also advise Nigerians to rely only on official information from the commission when it comes to its activities.

The development come few days after the Code of Conduct Bureau invite the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, John Tsoho, over allegation of undeclared assets.

Justice Tsoho confirm on March 2 say he receive the invitation and express readiness to appear before the agency.

For statement issued by Director of Information of the Federal High Court, Catherine Christopher, the chief judge explain say he go appear before the bureau with his lawyer, Kanu Agabi, SAN, wey currently dey outside the country for medical treatment.
