Abuja – Labour Party (LP) wey Senator Nenadi Usman dey lead don officially drop timetable and activities plan as dem dey prepare well-well for 2027 general elections.

According to document wey LP submit give Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on November 17, 2025, and INEC acknowledge am on November 21, 2025, party National Convention go hold February 28, 2026.

Di timetable show say LP don already kick off serious mobilisation and reorganisation to strengthen di party ahead of next general elections.

Membership Revalidation, Congresses Line-Up

Under di schedule, LP don inaugurate National Steering Committee for membership revalidation and new registration, plus nationwide mobilisation campaign wey dem call “Labour Party Connect 10 Million Nigerians.”

Dis exercise start on December 17, 2025, and e go end on January 10, 2026.

After dat, party activities go continue like this:

  • Ward Congresses: January 13, 2026

  • Local Government Congresses: January 17, 2026

  • State Congresses: January 24, 2026

  • Zonal Congresses: January 31, 2026

Nenadi Usman Call Nigerians Make Dem Join LP

While speaking for Abuja during inauguration of di steering committee, Interim National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, beg Nigerians make dem join Labour Party to help rescue Nigeria democracy.

She talk say LP, like other opposition parties, don pass through serious challenges and distractions.

“Most of these wahala don already settle for court, and di few wey remain still dey judiciary. We dey confident say dem go soon clear dem for justice and democracy interest,” she talk.

She add say as 2027 election dey approach, LP need to reposition, reorganise and strengthen itself to face bigger responsibilities.

‘LP Go Come Back Stronger’

Senator Usman admit say internal challenges delay di start of membership revalidation, but say di party don now regain ground.

“With di launch today and di approved timetable, I dey sure say we no go just recover lost ground, but we go come out stronger, more united and better prepared,” she say.

She encourage all existing members make dem revalidate their membership, and invite well-meaning Nigerians make dem register and officially join LP.

10 Million Members Target

Also speaking, Interim National Secretary of LP, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, wey swear in members of di National Steering Committee, charge dem make dem do their work with fairness and commitment.

He reveal say LP dey target at least 10 million Nigerians to fully register as members before di exercise end.

LP leadership reassure Nigerians say di party remain committed to being a people-driven and credible political alternative as Nigeria dey move closer to 2027 elections.
