The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) don release full plan for the “Free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu” protest wey go happen nationwide on Monday, October 20, 2025.

NANS National President, Comrade Atiku Isah, talk am for one statement wey drop Monday. He say the decision come after one executive meeting wey the group hold last week.

According to NANS, the protest na part of their struggle for justice, human rights, and true democracy for Nigeria.

“We don reach agreement say all Nigerian students go join the ‘Free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’ nationwide protest. This one na part of our demand for justice and accountability,” NANS talk.

The group don also give order make students gather for zonal meeting points before dem move go Abuja.

  • South West Zone: Go converge for Ekiti State and move go Abuja on Sunday, October 19.

  • South East Zone: Go gather for Enugu.

  • South South Zone: Go meet for Edo State.

NANS talk say dem don provide ten buses for each zone to make movement easy, and all Students’ Union Government (SUG) Presidents go get full travel details before Sunday.

“We believe say freedom no dey come without struggle, and as students we go continue to stand for wetin right,” dem add.

The protest go happen the same time when ASUU strike don shut down universities across Nigeria, and e follow the same day wey activist Omoyele Sowore plan him own protest for Abuja to demand Nnamdi Kanu release.

Nnamdi Kanu, wey be leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), don dey for DSS custody since June 2021 when dem rearrest am for Kenya.
