The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) don pause dia nationwide strike wey dem carry against Dangote Petroleum Refinery after Federal Government enter the matter.

PENGASSAN President, Festus Osifo, yarn the decision for Abuja on Wednesday after long-long negotiation with government officials and Dangote people wey last reach early morning.

The strike wey start on Sunday don shake plenty oil and gas operations for the country before the truce land. But Osifo warn say the suspension no be the end, na just temporary.

According to am, the wahala start because Dangote no dey allow union waka freely inside refinery and e dey show anti-union behaviour.

Osifo talk say:

“We no call off this strike, we only suspend am. If Dangote fail to respect wetin we agree, we go resume without any notice.”

The union leader still add say dem no trust Dangote fully, but because government show serious effort till 4 a.m. to settle matter, dem gree respect the process.

He insist say the fight na about worker rights — better welfare and fair pay. PENGASSAN also warn say if Dangote backslide on the agreement, strike go start sharp-sharp again.
