Police extradite murder, drug suspect to UK as Nigeria Police Force hand over one fugitive, Matthew Chukwuemeka Adebiyi, to authorities for United Kingdom over alleged crime.

According to police statement, the extradition process carry out through INTERPOL office for Abuja after UK authorities request his arrest since September 2024.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Placide, confirm say officers arrest the suspect for January 2025, before court begin extradition process.

Federal High Court for Lagos later approve the extradition on February 16, 2026, in line with Nigerian law.

Authorities finally hand over the suspect to UK officials on April 14, 2026, for Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, say Nigeria no go serve as safe place for criminals wey dey run from justice.

He also stress say Nigeria go continue to work with international partners to fight crime across borders.
