President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday declare security emergency for Nigeria and order make police, army and DSS recruit thousands of new people to join the fight against the wahala wey dey spread for different parts of the country.
For im national address, Tinubu talk say police go employ 20,000 new officers, wey go raise their number reach around 50,000. He even allow make NYSC camps turn to training grounds for the new recruits. Tinubu also order make all police officers wey dey do VIP escort return back for retraining so dem fit go frontline where violence dey happen.
Tinubu still give DSS green light to deploy forest guards wey don finish training and employ more people to chase criminals wey dey hide inside bush. “No hiding place again for evil people,” na so Tinubu talk for TV.
This new action follow fresh attacks for Kebbi, Borno, Zamfara, Niger, Yobe and Kwara, where plenty people die and some others waka disappear after kidnappers carry them.
Tinubu hail security forces for the rescue of 24 schoolgirls for Kebbi and 38 worshippers for Kwara. He promise say every remaining hostage—especially the ones wey dem kidnap for Niger State—must come back home safely.
The president also beg the National Assembly make dem speed up the law wey go allow each state get their own police force. He tell churches and mosques make dem dey request security protection for big gatherings, and advise herders to adopt ranching and drop illegal guns to stop fight with farmers.
Tinubu sympathise with families wey lose loved ones and salute brave soldiers wey die for duty, including Brigadier-General Musa Uba. “Anybody wey wan test our strength no suppose mistake our calmness for weakness,” he warn.
