Kwara State govment don shut down 45 public schools as bandit attack don dey worry many communities for the state.
Professor Sheu Ibrahim Adaramaja, wey be the Oga Chairman for Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB), announce am for Ilorin during one government press briefing on Tuesday.
He talk say the schools wey dem close dey for places like Babanla, Baba Sango, Sangbe, Oke-Ode and other areas wey don dey face security wahala. According to am, na to protect the pikin dem and teachers from danger.
Adaramaja still yarn say the teachers wey dey affected schools don already relocate go safe zones so dem fit still teach and collect their monthly pay.
He come add say Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq don approve 2025 promotion for all teachers to boost morale and make dem perform better. Plus, govment don cancel PTA levies for all public schools.
This move happen as Patigi people don dey protest the insecurity wey don scatter their area. Last week Friday, youths and elders for Patigi carry placard waka for road, shout say bandits don dey kill people steady and doctors for their hospital don run because of fear.
Dem accuse govment say dem no dey take the insecurity matter serious. Some even talk say Fulani attackers don turn their villages and Kara market to hideout. Dem beg the governor and security people make dem act fast before the situation turn worse.
One of the youths talk say, “We no fit go farm again. Bandits don turn our life upside down. Doctors don run from hospital. We dey die every day. Anybody wey say Kwara safe, e dey lie.”
