For statement wey come out Monday evening, Dangote Refinery explain say the price change follow the end of festive period and na to ensure long-term market stability and affordability.

“With the festive period don end, we modestly realign PMS prices to sustainable levels to support long-term market stability and affordability. Under the current alignment, PMS gantry price na N799 per litre, while MRS retail outlets dey sell at N839 per litre,” the statement talk.

The refinery also reaffirm im commitment to steady market supply and uninterrupted distribution of petrol across the country.

Dangote Refinery remind Nigerians say during the recent festive season, the company deliberately reduce petrol price as temporary support measure to ease pressure on households during high spending period.

According to the statement, this na the second festive season wey the refinery don absorb high operational and logistics costs in national interest, including logistics support in 2024 and price reduction in 2025 to promote affordability and market calm.

However, the refinery lament say despite the reduction, many filling stations fail to reflect the lower price at the pump, thereby denying Nigerians the benefit.

“With the festive period concluded, PMS prices have been modestly realigned to sustainable levels,” the statement repeat.

Reacting to the development, Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, David Bird, say the refinery still dey supply the local market with about 50 million litres of PMS every day, adding say evacuation and nationwide distribution dey operate normally.

He explain say the refinery get design flexibility to process different types of crude and intermediate feedstocks, wey allow continuous PMS supply even during planned maintenance.

According to am, this capacity ensure say domestic fuel supply go remain stable and uninterrupted.

“As domestic producer, Dangote Petroleum Refinery dey protect Nigerian market from import-related price volatility and external supply disruption, while remaining a stabilising force for downstream petroleum sector,” Bird say.
