Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) don announce say train services for Ujevwu–Itakpe corridor go resume from Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
This information come from statement wey Railway Customer Service Unit, WITS, NRC release and make available to journalists for Warri on Monday.
For the statement, NRC apologise to passengers for the delay and thank dem for their patience during the period wey train services suspend.
“We sincerely apologise for the delay in resuming our train services. We don miss una and we appreciate una patience,” the statement talk.
NRC say train go depart Ujevwu Station by 8:00am on Wednesday and arrive Itakpe Station same day.
According to the schedule, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, train go depart Itakpe Station by 12:00pm back to Ujevwu Station, and regular services go continue after that.
The corporation also announce say e-ticket booking platform go open by midnight, make passengers start their bookings ahead of time.
The Ujevwu–Itakpe rail service connect Delta State to Kogi State and na extension of the Warri–Itakpe rail line wey Federal Government inaugurate for 2020. The rail line na key transport route to improve movement of goods and passengers between South-South and North-Central regions.
The corridor dey play important role for moving goods from Warri ports and also help inter-state travel and commercial activities.
Train operations for the route bin suspend weeks ago because of operational and logistical challenges, including maintenance work on rail infrastructure and safety concerns. The suspension affect passenger movement and business activities along the corridor, as commuters and stakeholders dey call for quick resumption.
NRC don repeatedly maintain say temporary suspension of train services dey necessary from time to time to guarantee passenger safety and improve service delivery across Nigeria railway network.
