
Nigeria Police Force don get new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) as Anthony Okon Placid take over from Benjamin Hundeyin.

The appointment receive approval from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
For statement wey Hundeyin release on Sunday, he confirm say the police chief approve the appointment of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Okon Placid as the new spokesperson of the force.
Hundeyin bin serve as Force Public Relations Officer since September 2015 when former Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, appoint am. Before that time, he serve as spokesperson for Lagos State Police Command.
The new appointment come few weeks after Disu assume office as Nigeria police chief and carry out reshuffle for the police leadership.
According to the police, Placid na experienced officer wey get wide knowledge in administration, intelligence gathering, operations, training and international peacekeeping missions.
The new police spokesman, wey born on December 2, 1970 for Uyo, come from Mbiokporo Nsit in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Placid study Geography and Regional Planning from University of Uyo and later obtain Master’s degree in Law and Diplomacy from University of Jos. He also study law at National Open University of Nigeria.
The Akwa Ibom-born police officer start him career as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police at Nigeria Police Academy Kano in 1996 and he was officially commissioned in August 1998.
Throughout him career, Placid don attend several professional and international training programmes, including United Nations Peace Operations Specialised Training and the UNITAR Senior Leadership and Peacebuilding course in Kenya.
The police say he don serve in different strategic positions both within Nigeria and outside the country.
According to Hundeyin, the new Force spokesman happily married with children and enjoy hobbies like listening to music, playing football, basketball, table tennis and badminton, as well as interacting with people.
