Senate Leader and chairman of the Ekiti APC 2026 Governorship Campaign Council, Opeyemi Bamidele, reveal the plan on Monday during the inauguration of a 57-member campaign council in Ado Ekiti.

According to Bamidele, the achievements of Oyebanji since he assume office go help the party secure clear victory for the election.

He say the June 20 governorship poll go serve as referendum for the people of Ekiti to confirm the leadership of the governor.

The inauguration ceremony attract many top APC leaders, including Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Adeoye Aribasoye, and APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru.

Others wey attend the event include chairman of the board of Nigerian Ports Authority, Dayo Adeyeye, and former senator for Ekiti Central, Bode Olowoporoku, alongside members of the National Assembly from the state.

Bamidele also stress say the mobilisation strategy no be only for Oyebanji re-election but also preparation for the 2027 general elections.

He urge party members to encourage more people to register and collect their voter cards under the Continuous Voter Registration exercise organised by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to him, Ekiti currently get about 987,647 registered voters, which he say still far below the estimated population of 3.8 million people for the state.

Bamidele call for at least 50 percent increase in voter registration before August 2026 and encourage party members to move from house-to-house, street-to-street and community-to-community to mobilise voters.

He also promise to lead the campaign with dedication, targeting up to 90 percent victory margin for the governor.

Reacting, Governor Oyebanji say him campaign go focus on issues, policies and development plans instead of personal attacks.

The governor also call on opposition parties to respect the Electoral Act 2022 and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to ensure peaceful and credible election.
