Fresh crisis don continue for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the faction led by Tanimu Turaki say dem go approach the Supreme Court of Nigeria to challenge recent judgment from the Court of Appeal Nigeria over the party leadership dispute.

The Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) announce the decision through statement wey the party National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, release on Monday.

According to the statement, the faction say dem determined to continue the legal battle to rescue the PDP from what dem describe as government agents wey dey pretend to be opposition leaders.

Earlier, a panel of the Appeal Court led by Mohammed Ambi-Usi Danjuma deliver judgment on different consolidated cases relating to the PDP leadership crisis.

Among the key rulings, the court uphold earlier judgment from the Federal High Court in Abuja which say the process wey lead to the PDP National Convention wey happen for Ibadan, Oyo State on November 15 and 16 violate the Electoral Act, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the PDP constitution.

Because of that, the court rule say the convention wey elect Turaki and other members of the NWC no follow the law properly, making the outcome invalid.

Reacting to the judgment, Ememobong say the party lawyers don already receive instruction to immediately file appeal at the Supreme Court to seek final interpretation of the matter.

He explain say the implementation of the Appeal Court judgment fit cause serious problems for PDP members across the country if the ruling remain.

According to him, the party leadership dey currently consult with important organs of the party on the next step while legal process to challenge the judgment don begin.

Ememobong also express confidence say the Supreme Court go quickly settle the dispute in the interest of democracy in Nigeria.

He call on PDP members to remain calm and united, assuring them say the legal battle go soon end and the party go overcome the crisis.

The spokesman insist say the struggle to protect the party from external interference must continue until victory is achieved.
