All Progressives Congress don postpone its House of Representatives primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The ruling party announce say the exercise wey was earlier scheduled for another date go now hold on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

The announcement was contained in statement released on Thursday by APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.


Other Primary Dates Remain Unchanged

According to the party, other previously announced dates for Senate, governorship, State House of Assembly and presidential primaries remain unchanged.

The updated timetable released by APC show say:

  • House of Representatives Primary – Saturday, May 16, 2026
  • Senate Primary – Monday, May 18, 2026
  • State House of Assembly Primary – Wednesday, May 20, 2026
  • Governorship Primary – Thursday, May 21, 2026
  • Presidential Primary – Saturday, May 23, 2026

APC Continues Preparations for 2027 Elections

The adjustment comes as political activities continue to intensify across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

APC leadership has continued consultations and screening exercises for aspirants contesting various elective positions under the party platform.
