Some blacklisted universities for Benin Republic don find new way to smuggle their graduates enter National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for Nigeria. Dem dey do am with help from some private polytechnics wey dey for Naija.
Wetin our reporter gather be say the Benin schools go collect Higher National Diploma (HND) or National Diploma (ND) certificate from the Nigerian polytechnic for their students, come use am take register for NYSC like say dem study for Nigeria.
According to people wey know the matter, the students dey pay close to ₦400,000 to process the fake HND certificate from the polytechnic, especially schools wey dey South-West and South-East.
🎓 How Dem Take Run the Game
One graduate from Esfam-Benin University for Porto Novo, wey talk say him name na Seun, reveal say him school don forward their records to one Naija private polytechnic to help dem enter NYSC list.
“Our names and certificates don already enter the polytechnic system. Once person get Benin certificate, you fit pay small money for Naija poly, collect HND certificate wey go make you serve,” Seun yarn.
Another graduate from one of the banned Benin universities still confirm say one senior staff for the school arrange the “package” for dem.
“After government ban our schools, one of the school oga tell us say e get link for one Nigerian polytechnic wey fit help us enter NYSC. But we gatz pay,” the graduate talk.
Some of the schools wey dey do the connection dey for Abia and Ekiti states, and dem don already submit names of fake graduates for NYSC mobilisation. Our reporter even see document wey show say two Benin graduates don get fake matric number and HND result from one of the polytechnic.
🏛️ Government Deny the Matter
When dem ask NYSC spokesperson, Carol Embu, she talk say the scheme no get any connection with NYSC because foreign graduates dey always pass through Ministry of Education before mobilisation.
“We no know anything about this kind thing. Any foreign graduate wey wan serve must pass through Ministry of Education first,” she talk.
The Ministry of Education spokesperson, Folashade Omoboriowo, still deny the gist say such thing fit happen because their system don digitalise.
“We don build portal wey dey detect this kind manipulation. If anybody get proof, make dem bring am,” she talk.
The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Council of Heads of Polytechnics still talk say dem never hear about the fraud matter before, but promise say if dem see real proof, dem go act.
⚠️ Insider Confession
One administrator from one of the banned Benin schools confess say many of the universities for Benin still dey use this same method.
“After Benin certificate no dey recognised again, schools begin use Nigerian polytechnic take cover up. Once you pay, dem go add your name for Senate list, issue you ND and HND paper, then you go serve,” the man talk.
The Federal Government ban over 45 universities for Benin Republic and Togo for 2024 after undercover journalist from Daily Nigerian collect degree inside six weeks and even serve for NYSC.
But even with the ban, the “business” still dey go underground as some people dey find illegal ways to enter NYSC through fake documents.
