Canada don issue high-risk travel advisory for 17 African countries, as part of one of the biggest security review dem don do for Africa in recent times. Di advisory cover period November 13 to 15, 2025 and e include 34 countries worldwide.
Di advisory follow rising insecurity, unstable governments, and armed conflict for countries like Somalia, Sudan, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, and Nigeria. Canada warn say travel to some places fit dey dangerous because of violence, political wahala, and other security threats.
Two types of travel warnings dey:
Avoid All Travel: Countries wey people no suppose travel at all include South Sudan, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Libya, Mali, Niger, Somalia, and Sudan.
Avoid Non-Essential Travel: Countries wey travel fit still happen but make people careful include Madagascar, Ethiopia, Burundi, Chad, DR Congo (Kinshasa), Eritrea, Mauritania, Nigeria, and Tanzania.
Canada advise travelers say make dem think twice before waka, and people wey dey inside di countries make dem dey consider safe exit if e possible. Di update follow global trend of stricter travel and security policies by Western countries.
