Nigerian Senate don give Federal Govment two weeks to submit full report wey go show how 2024 budget don perform and wetin dem plan for 2025 before dem go look the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).
Chairman of Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Sani Musa, drop the warning when Tinubu economic team, wey Minister of Finance and Economy, Wale Edun lead, visit National Assembly on Thursday.
According to Musa, Senate no go continue any talk about new budget plan until dem see clear evidence say the 2024 budget dey work well.
He talk say, “We no fit discuss MTEF when we never know how 2024 budget don perform. Make una bring the report before October 23, so we go fit use am check the 2025–2027 MTEF properly.”
He still add say the Senate wan make sure transparency and accountability dey inside the fiscal process, so that Nigeria no go dey plan future spending without correct data from previous years.
