Ex-Minister of Defence and senior PDP chieftain, Dr Bello Haliru Mohammed, don officially resign from PDP and announce say e dey retire from active politics after more than four decades of public service.

Mohammed, wey don turn 80, talk say im don do “deep reflection” and e believe say na time make new generation carry responsibility for country political leadership. E write, “E don dey rare privilege serve our nation and our party for different positions. From my early public service days to Minister of Communications, Minister of Defence, Acting PDP National Chairman and Chairman of PDP Board of Trustees, I dey always try push unity, progress and democracy.”
For him long political career, Mohammed don play key role for national administration, security reform and party restructuring, especially during PDP dominant years. E career show say him get plenty influence and experience wey shape party policies and decisions.
Even as e dey retire, Mohammed promise say e go still dey support national unity and good governance as elder citizen. E talk say im experience go always dey available whenever government or country need guidance.
Political observers dey reason say Mohammed resignation fit affect PDP strength for Kebbi State, wey him don long dey lead and mobilise structures, especially as party dey prepare for 2027 general elections.
