Residents of Oke-Ode community for Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State don hail Federal Government for sending soldiers to their area to fight bandits and bring peace come back.
The National President of Oke-Ode Development Association, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Ajala-Bello, tell TheStreetNewspaper say the deployment na “better move wey don take time come.”
He talk say before now, bandits don chase people comot from more than 52 villages around the area — many people die, some wound, and others still dey captivity.
“Now wey soldiers don enter Oke-Ode, peace don begin return small small. Our market even open yesterday and business don dey move again,” Ajala-Bello talk.
He still announce say the community don plan to carry displaced people go back home. “By Saturday morning, we go provide buses for Ilorin make people fit return to their villages,” he add.
The community leader still beg FG and security agencies make dem no relax, say make dem continue till banditry become story of the past.
Meanwhile, Senate don ask FG make dem create permanent military base for Kwara South area, especially around the forest side of Ifelodun LGA, to stop bandit attack.
Senator Oyelola Ashiru wey move the motion for Senate talk say the attacks don scatter farming, close schools, and affect local business. He warn say if dem no act fast, the problem fit spread go North-Central and South-West parts of Nigeria.
